Biography

1908

Born in Constance (Lake Constance) on the 25th January as son of the sculptor Anton Stingl and his wife Maria Gutemann.

1914-1917

Attendance of the extended elementary school in Constance.

1918-1927

Attendance of the high school in Constance.

1927-1931

Study of mathematics and physics at the Albert-Ludwigs-University in Freiburg.

1928

During the summer semester study of the guitar with Prof. Jakob Ortner in Vienna. First guitar concert in Constance.

1929-1932

Several concerts in Freiburg, Constance and Waldkirch, organized by the student minister Alfred Beer.

1931-1933

Teacher training in Freiburg.

1933-1934

Concerts in Darmstadt, Freiburg and Constance.

1933-1973

Instructor at the seminar for nursery school teachers.

Premiere of the Trio op. 8 for violin, viola and and guitar at the 64th Tonkuenstlerfest in Wiesbaden.

Stingl joins the small orchestra of the Suedwestfunk (SWF) conducted by Willi Stech.
On 18.3. became in the Southwest radio the sonnet for Baritone, French horn and guitar as well as the small Suite op. 28 for guitar sent.

Meeting with Andres Segovia in Basle (German).
